Sepultura - Morbid Visions

Sepultura - Morbid Visions - 1986

It’s hard to remember that Sepultura started as a Death Metal band, given what they have become today. The Groove Metal of their later years began as some of the most demonic and blasphemous metal the world had ever heard at that point. The fact that these horrifying sounds were coming out of Brazil only added to the mystique. Morbid Visions is primitive and raw in its execution, but what it lacks in production values it more than makes up for in intensity. The band offered us a fascinating glimpse into what was possible within Metal music, and there isn’t a Metal band on the planet that has come after them that hasn’t been influenced in some way by the various iterations and incarnations of the mighty Sepultura.
